The use of statistical tools to forecast the assessment of business activity of construction organizations

The importance of construction industry in the economy of the Vologda Oblast makes it very important to study the opinions of construction business community, to identify the expectations and perspectives regarding the development of the industry. The article discusses the business activity of construction companies in the Vologda Oblast on the basis of assessments given by their heads. It analyses the changes in key performance indicators of construction companies, their financial condition and constraints to business activity in construction, etc. The author identifies significant problems that limit the development of industrial activity: growth in construction material prices; insufficient customers’ demand for construction activity; decrease in the provision of organizations with loans; high level of taxation; lack of improvement of competitive environment, etc. The article contains suggestions for the improvement of conditions of activity of construction enterprises and for the development of construction sector in the Vologda Oblast.
