Poultry farming is one of the most profitable branches of agriculture, both in Russia and around the world. In recent years, it has been actively developing, innovative projects are being developed, new resource-saving technologies are being introduced. The level of consumption of poultry products is high and continues to increase constantly, which confirms the prospects of the entire poultry industry for at least the next few years. At the same time, one of the most important problems in the production of poultry products is the pollution of the environment by production waste, in particular poultry manure, the annual output of which at one poultry farm can be up to hundreds of thousands of tons. The applied technologies of manure processing do not ensure its effective disposal, as a result, a large amount of this waste accumulates in the adjacent territories, which, with the cellular content of poultry, belongs to the 3rd class of dangerous substances. In the presence of heat and moisture in the droppings, undesirable chemical and biological processes develop, as a result of which substances that pollute the environment begin to be released. One of the rational ways to prevent these processes is to dehydrate the manure to a moisture content of 14-15%. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the types of connection of moisture with the particles of manure. Mechanically bound moisture includes capillary-bound and free moisture. The simplest mechanical method of dehydration of bird droppings is sedimentation, among the common methods of separation of suspensions, filtration can be distinguished. The most efficient way to separate such heterogeneous systems as bird droppings is by pressing. Continuous presses, which include screw presses, are increasingly used. The use of a screw press allows to dehydrate bird droppings from the initial humidity of 75% to a humidity of 50-55%. This provides a significant reduction in energy costs during the subsequent high-temperature drying of dehydrated manure.
