The article is devoted to partes collections of the 17th-18th centuries Synodal School of Church Singing, which are included in one of the largest musical collections of manuscripts - the Synodal Singing Collection, stored in the Department of Manuscripts and Early Printed Books of the State Historical Museum (SIM). Despite the fact that the partes, as a phenomenon of the musical culture of Russia in the 17th-18th centuries, often becomes the subject of research, the issue of dating such manuscripts remains poorly understood. The study of watermarks - paper filigrees allowed the author to conclude, that many manuscripts of this time are convolutes composed of works recorded at different times, originally existing as separate units, and only several decades later collected under one cover.
