Information society studying as a complex problem

The article deals with modern approaches to study the problems of information society, which are presented in Russian academic periodical. The main trends of research are connected with a great number of contemporary social problems, i.e. the analysis of changes in human labor and information technologies, in science and culture, in arts and education, in social being and social conscience. A lot of contemporary events and tendencies are found to have existed and have been studied in the past. Information society investigations seem to be continued in two main directions. On the one hand, there are new studies of changes in different parts of social system, on the other hand, a total theory of this society is being formulated. The conception developed by Perm University philosophy school based on the traditions of historical materialism seems to be the most perspective approach to the issue.
