Research on innovative capacity of holding JSC Russian railways

The article deals with the conception of innovative development of JSC Russian Railways - one of the largest holding companies in Russia. The authors reveal the basic provisions of the Strategies for Innovation Development. In compliance with these tasks the innovative activity of enterprises is implemented. This activity is aimed at addressing the needs of government, legal entities and individuals in the sectors of railway transportations, work and services provided by railway transport as well as profit extraction. It is shown that in general the innovative potential of an enterprise is not reduced to a simple sum of the structural components. It represents a system with emergent properties. The function of the government in this case is fully adequate implementation of these properties, the linkages between the structural subdivisions of the company, establishing contacts with universities and research institutions, financial institutions, and regional authorities. Innovation has become one of the most important directions of development of modern innovation-active organizations ensuring the effective use of innovative achievements in the interests of dynamic economic development.
