Research of friction coefficient on lubricated parts of aluminum alloy AD0 (АД0) with microstructurally engineered surface

The article describes the research results of friction coefficient on lubricated parts of aluminum alloy AD0 (АД0) with microstructurally engineered surface. The goal of the research was to recreate conditions during deep drawing of cylindrical parts and measure friction coefficient in the interaction of the friction surfaces. We used tribometer CSM Instruments and profilometer Surtronic 25 for the experiments. Analysis of the results showed decreased friction coefficient in the presence of microstructural surface. The decrease value of friction coefficient was reached by prior impression of lubricant on the surface of slab facing the mirroring matrix. These impressions help to reduce the friction coefficient by effectively holding lubricant on the surface.
