Research of Confuction in work CM. Georgiyevsky

The article considers the views of S.M. Georgievsky, Russian synologist of the second half of the 19th century, on the features of the development of Chinese civilization. At the end of the XIX century, China was the focus of Russian society. Attitudes to the Chinese civilization were critical, because of a lack of information about the life of the Chinese people. CM. Georgievsky was the first who refuted the entrenched knowledge about China as a "historical fossil" and attempted to solve the problem with the correlation of Eastern civilizations with the model of European historical development.
