Elastic bodies with coulomb friction contact shakedown process analysis

This paper explores the adaptation phenomenon at body contact interaction. Results of numerical simulation by finite element method confirming and clarifying conditions of full or partial dry friction contact shakedown of elastic bodies are considered. Generalization of adaptation criteria to the case of contact interaction of many bodies is presented. The application to the practical task of increasing the durability of roller bit is analysed.
