A necessary component of a market economy is competition, which is a dynamic process in which its participants interact with each other to implement more favorable conditions for their existence and achieve advantages over competitors. At the present stage of development of the market economy, the importance of managing the competitiveness of enterprises is increasing. However, Russian companies do not pay due attention to this issue. Unfortunately, their methodology for managing competitiveness is not sufficiently developed and does not fully meet the requirements of the modern economy. Management of competitiveness is carried out in stages, which implies the process nature of its organization, characterized by cycles, which allows each new round to start taking into account the mistakes and advantages of previous cycles. In turn, the management system is a kind of way to organize effective interaction of all participants in the process. At the same time, management should rely on competitive strategies and tactics, and those should focus on the appropriate level of competitiveness management. Moreover, the specifics are also found in the specifics of the company’s activities, especially in the service sector.
