The presented article is the result of the analysis of theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding the relationship between occupational stress and human health on the example of professional groups exposed to an increased level of psychological pressure. As negative factors, we consider not only the organization and working conditions, the psychological climate in the team, but also indicators that cause a negative reaction of psychosomatics in the environment of professions subject to special psychological impact: doctors, firefighters, police officers, a separate element of which can be considered medical specialists of forensic medical examination, since they not only communicate with people, but often interact with victims of crimes, including violent ones, with relatives of victims and accused, in addition, the work of forensic experts often takes place in difficult conditions, both from the point of view of physiology and psychology. The dominant factors of psychophysiological load for this category of medical workers include: the intensity of loads, work in night shifts, the specifics of communication with elements of the criminal environment affected by the actions of criminals, etc. Within the framework of the analysis, both approaches to the concept of health and actual problems of professional stress in certain categories of employees who are most susceptible to psychoemotional effects in their work and an increased level of psychological pressure are investigated.
