The agricultural sector is currently facing the task of increasing the economic efficiency of production. The correct use of production resources, material and technical means, achievements of scientific and technological progress is required. Along with increasing the yield of agricultural crops, improving their quality characteristics and reducing production costs, it is necessary to use low energy consuming waste-free production and processing technologies. Potential food security in Azerbaijan can be ensured by local products. For this purpose, it is necessary to fully and effectively use land resources. In the production of sugar, there are a number of byproducts of production that are used in feeding cattle. Byproducts are an interesting raw material for feeding livestock. Sugar beet pulp, in its various forms, supplies cheap and very valuable energy in the form of cellulose, hemicellulose and pectin. These products are slowly digested in the rumen and are lenient to microorganisms. Their use is recommended, first of all, in diets with protein-rich basal feeds. Also, in the feeding of low-productive cows (for example, in the 3rd lactation period), cereals can be completely replaced with pulp. Therefore, taking into account the foregoing, the development of effective technologies and technical means based on fundamentally new scientific approaches and technical solutions that implement its dehydration is of crucial importance in order to extend the shelf life of sugar beet pulp.
