The research of the private museum market development in the Kaliningrad region

The article presents the results of a studying the market of private museums in the Kaliningrad region. The significant pace of development of partly forced domestic tourism gave impetus to many sectors of the economy of the Kaliningrad region, including a rather narrow field of activity - private museums. The work identifies development trends of this type of activity, groups market participants, considers fundamental and applied problems and proposed ways to solve them. The study is based on the statistical analysis and model construction, a series of indepth interviews with expert representatives of private museums in the Kaliningrad region. The article presents conclusions about the clear impact of the growing tourist flow and developing tourism on the opening of private museums in the region, establishes the prevalence of economic motives in the creation of private museums, examines the problems in this area and tools for overcoming them and the development of private museums in the region, makes qualitative and quantitative conclusions about structure of the market for private museums. Most of the private museums are not such, because their main activity is exhibition and entertainment work. The activities of private museums can be classified as a full-fledged business with an already established market structure, similar in structure and composition to the market for any goods and services.
