Research of reological properties of electrical insulating polymers

The method of determining the rheological characteristics of polymer materials in IIRT-AM production unit, used to determine the melt flow index is proposed. The given technique allows to define dependences of viscosity on shear rate and temperature. Experimental researche of rheological properties of polyethylene melt of low density 153-01К and polyethylene melt of high density 271-274К, intended for imposing of isolation and covers of cables by an extrusion method is carried out. It is stated that: investigated melts of polymers concern pseudo-plastic liquids with close values of indicators of anomaly of viscosity; at temperature 170°С viscosity of melt of polyethylene 271-274К is higher then viscosity of melt of polyethylene 153-01К approximately in 1,5 times; temperature factors of viscosity in Reynolds's equation of polyethylene 153-01К exceeds twice temperature factors of viscosity of polyethylene 271-274К.
