Investigation of resonance magneto-optical properties of in-plane magnetized diffraction structures

Magneto-optical properties of perforated heterostructure consisting of metallic grating on magnetic dielectric layer are investigated. Magneto-optical effect determined by the relative change in intensity of the transmitted or reflected light is explained in terms of waveguide TE-modes excited in magnetic layer. It is shown that considered structure with asymmetric grating also demonstrates Faraday magneto-optical effect.
