Investigation of the settlement network of the Uryupinsky district of the Volgograd region using GIS technologies

In the course of the study, the collection and processing of initial data was carried out to build a cartographic diagram of the settlement network of the Uryupinsky district. For a complete analysis of the settlement network, the influencing factors on this process, namely natural and socio-economic, were also considered. The physical, geographical and road network of the district were built. Connections between settlements of different levels were identified: the connection of the administrative center with the center of the rural settlement, the connection of the center of the rural settlement with rural settlements. The cartography of the settlement network was built manually based on the identified connections. An analysis and a comprehensive assessment of the patterns of the settlement network of the Uryupinsky district was carried out.
