The study of water-absorption ability of asbestos-cement pipelines

The article introduces the results of studies on a hydrophysical property measurement of asbestos-cement pipes. A research method and an experimental setup were worked out. A water-absorption character of asbestos-cementpipe samples was experimentally tested. The metod was based on standart approaches with some additions. In particular, all next samples were maintained in aqueous solutions at constant environment temperatures up to a full water saturation level. Each of the samples was subjected to physico-mechanical tests to define changes of strength characteristics which were estimated by the tensile strength determined by the given type of deformation.
