Research on temperature dependence of glass transition activation energy of some inorganic substances

In the article, we have proposed a method for determining the activation energy of glass transition process depending on temperature using the Taylor series through the example of SiO2-Na2O-CaO, SiO2-PbO and optical glasses. The calculation results have shown that a polynomial of the second degree is quite satisfactorily describes the dependence U(T) for these systems. The purpose of this article is to compare the values of the coefficients obtained from the Taylor series expansion of U(T) with the characteristics of the U(T) versus (T-Tg) curves obtained directly from experimental temperature viscosity values. We have chosen the above glass compositions as objects of study, since for these materials there are experimental data on viscosity in a wide temperature range. Expansion of the activation energy function U(T) into a Taylor series is acceptable for them. The proposed method can be extended by inclusion of other glass-forming compounds.
