An inquiry into lamin-associated domains and their impact on gene expression

This paper presents a review of modern research methods concerning lamin-associated genomic domains and proteins that interact with them, which regulate eukaryotic gene expression both in short and long term, in order to search for molecular mechanisms controlling the state of these genomic regions. A logical conclusion - a justification of necessity of further investigation into lamins and associated domains for a systematical approach to diagnosing, preventing and treating laminopaties - is reached.
