The research of China's military-political discourse (case study of the white paper “China's national defence in 2010”)

The article is devoted to the study of military-political discourse and its role in the formation of China's favorable image in the world. The object of study is the white paper ‘China's National Defense in 2010', published by the country's State Council in 2011. A linguistic analysis of this document makes it possible to estimate the reality of the so-called ‘Chinese threat' and shows the discourse strategy, aimed at creating the favorable image of the country that strives for peace and stability. Moreover, the author assumes that within the framework of social and political course of the ‘Chinese Dream', proposed by President Xi Jinping in 2013, as well as the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st century Maritime Silk Road strategic initiatives implementation, the China's military-political discourse has taken particular significance for the county's further development.
