Study of adaptive reuse of historical and cultural neighborhoods (on the example of “Rossiya” street in Qiqihar city, Heilongjiang province, PRC)

This article is devoted to the study of adaptive reuse of Rossiya Street in Qiqihar city, Heilongjiang Province of China. It was noted that in recent years, the Government of China has begun to pay special attention to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, which includes the designated object. Rossiya Street is a complex of historical Russian-style buildings located on the territory of the former Middle Eastern Railway in Heilongjiang Province of China. The historical and cultural quarter of Rossiya Street embodies the features of Russian national art and culture, possessing a unique aesthetic potential. The article was intended to determine the possibilities of restoring the object of the cultural heritage of the Middle Kingdom for its integration into the modern tourist space. The author considers the current situation of the functioning of Rossiya Street in the city of Tsikikar as an example of adaptive reuse of historical heritage. The key problems that impede the progressive development of the Russian-style neighborhood, as well as approaches and strategies aimed at giving this process dynamics, are described.
