The study of the possibilities of diagnosis and correction of the antisocial attitude of juvenile convicts

The article describes the problem of the antisocial attitude of juvenile convicts. The relevance of the study is predetermined by the contradiction between the need to correct juvenile convicts while serving in a young offenders’ institution and the lack in penitentiary science and practice of diagnostic tools and correction of a number of factors of committing crimes, in particular, such as the antisocial attitude of the individual. The problem of correcting the antisocial attitude has been raised in a number of studies, but has not been solved both conceptually and technologically. The aim of the study was to develop and test methods of psychological diagnosis and correction of antisocial attitude of juvenile convicts. The purpose of the study was to develop and test methods of psychological diagnosis and correction of the antisocial position of the individual in juvenile convicts. The research methods were theoretical analysis with the allocation of the essence and structural of the phenomenon of the antisocial attitude; an empirical study of the characteristics of the antisocial attitude of juvenile convicts; and an experimental study of the possibilities of its psychological correction. As a result of the study, the effectiveness was established for identifying the presence and characteristics of the antisocial position of the personality of the complex of methods including the analysis of the personal file, the methodology of color metaphors, the methodology “subjective assessment of integration”, “incomplete proposal”, “find yourself” and a diagnostic conversation. The effectiveness of the proposed complex of psycho-correctional methods aimed at removing negative feelings in relation to society, a change in negative beliefs against society, the search and consolidation of individual-useful forms of interaction with society. The results can find their application in the activities of psychologists of juvenile correction institutions.
