Study into the feasibility of binary refrigerant application in a cascade refrigerant machine

A new method of increasing the productivity of a cascade refrigeration machine was introduced, the second cascade of which operates in auto-cascade mode on binary refrigerant R23 / R134a at boiling point of 68 °C. Practical tests of the second stage on binary refrigerant R23 / R134a demonstrated that its use in compressors of medium and low pressure is extremely promising because the use of binary mixture R23 / R134a allows to increase the productivity of the cycle, and has an effect not only on improving the operation of the compressor unit, but increases the coefficient of performance of the cascade machine as a whole. Installation in the refrigeration circuit of the recuperator provides heat exchange between the liquid line and the suction line of the refrigeration unit, which is due to the optimization of the temperature and pressure parameters and also contributes to increase in the efficiency of the cycle.
