Research of possibility of applying a voluntary carbon market for the purpose of regulating carbon emissions by transport sphere in regions

The purpose of the article is to show the role of the interdisciplinary design method in solving the problem of regulating carbon emissions in the transport sector of Primorsky Krai. The main intermediate results of studies of the ecological potential of the Primorsky Territory, which is under the influence of carbon emissions by vehicles, are outlined. The share of carbon emissions by freight transport enterprises from the total volume of emissions of all vehicles in the region was calculated. The necessity of introducing an environmental load criterion in the form of an indicator of the carbon budget of ecosystems is proved. The benefits of using the tool - the carbon market for improving ecosystems, replenishing the revenue side of the budget of the Primorsky Territory and reducing environmental costs are justified. Scenarios for organizing a voluntary carbon market and carbon footprint derivative instruments. An empirical assessment of the carbon market with the possibility of its application in order to regulate carbon emissions by the region’s motor transport was carried out. The methods of quantitative and statistical analysis are used.
