Research on the relationship between human capital and innovative development

The purpose of the study is to substantiate the directions for enhancing the innovative development of Russia on the basis of improving human capital. Research objectives: identification of the relationship between the human capital index and indicators characterizing socio-economic development and innovation processes in individual countries; comparison of characteristics reflecting the socio-economic situation in Russia and other countries; determination of directions for improving the processes of innovative development of the Russian economy based on the capabilities of human capital. Research methods: regression analysis, least squares method, graphical method. The paper is devoted to the study of indicators characterizing the relationship and interdependence between the level of human capital development and innovative development. The analysis carried out by the authors is based on the assessment of indicators such as the global innovation index, gross national income per capita, taking into account purchasing power parity, the index of doing business and the index of the education system. Based on the determination of Russia's positions in global rankings and their comparison with the positions of other countries, the prospects for improving indicators are determined, primarily associated with the use of the potential of human capital. The authors note the need to adjust the macroeconomic policy of our country in order to ensure positive dynamics and balance of indicators of innovative development. In particular, it is recommended to form a complex of institutional conditions that ensure the improvement of human capital.
