In 2016, besides the archaeological site of Tara fortress, studies on its microtopography were carried out, identifying places of Bukhara sloboda location, roads, which brings travelers to the gates of the fortress. The author believes that Bukhara sloboda was a place of compact residence of the Tatars (Siberians, Kazans, Bukharians). It began to take shape during the construction of the fortress, when Tara's Tatars, not consisting in the army, were banned to live inside the fortress. Bukhara's merchants at the time lived separately from them. After the tsar's decrees of 1645-1678 the legal status of Bukhara changed, and they could live together with fellow believers. Together with the creation of fortress began to form a network of roads around Tara. The main ways survived. This makes it possible to correlate the road to Tara fortress with natural obstacles and with modern streets.
