Investigation of the properties of nanocoating on the cutting tool by nanoindentation method

Properties of the cutting tools base metal with CrN nanocoating by nanoindentation method were investigated. It is shown, that the nanohardness of base metal is 4.09 GPa, with CrN nanocoating - 23,19 GPa, which provides higher physical - mechanical properties of the tool.
