Truth in historical studies

Бесплатный доступ

The article deals with the meaning of truth in historical studies and the impact of postmodernism on «metahistory». The author shows the epistemological difficulties of representation of historical events: non-reproducibility in laboratory conditions, ambiguity of interpretation of the «pieces of evidence», absence of universal theories and methods of studying history. The author presents the concepts of H. White, F. Ankersmit, A. Danto, G. Iggers, et al. in the context of an interview conducted by the historian E. Domanski.
