Sources of financing of imperial police: Russian Turkestan

The article is devoted to the problem of sources of financing of imperial police. The author opposes the widespread belief that as the main tool of autocratic oppression of people, it contained only due to the state. He testifies that the basic charges under the maintenance of pre-revolutionary police bore a working population of the country. For persuasiveness, the author characterizes sources of financing of police in the Russian areas of Central Asia (Russian Turkestan) marking, that they differed as well as in all Russia. Data on them confirm the opinion on the limited role of the state in the maintenance of imperial police due to state assignments. They show, that police services both in the Russia, and in Turkestani edge were financed due to the means raised from people - zemsky gathering, city incomes and other receipts of the population.
