Sources of argotic vocabulary replenishment

The article analyzes the sources of replenishment of argotic vocabulary in the French language, emphasizing its dynamic nature and adaptation to social changes. Argot is considered as a product of word-making, reflecting the influence of various cultural and social factors. The main focus is on methods of forming new words, such as metaphorization, metonymy, derivation, and reduplication. Examples of argotic expressions and their semantic features are also considered, which makes it possible to identify the mechanisms of argot formation as a means of identification and self-expression among young people.
