Source studies of historiography: some debatable issues

The article analyzes the basic concepts of source studies of historiography and the specific features of the classification of historiographical sources implemented by the members of the Scientific and Pedagogical School of Source Studies in the Source Studies textbook. The paper formulates the grounds and principles for a comparative study of national historiographical traditions with the identification of similar and distinctive features of their development, as well as the characteristic features inherent in the Russian historiographical tradition throughout its existence.
