Historical identity in the context of polytemporality of modern culture

The article examines the phenomenology of the polytemporality of historical identity. The author views the synchronization of polytemporality of culture as a tool for maintaining the stability of historical identity. It is proved that methodology of the study of historical identity must comprise of itself not only analysis historical concepts but also particularities of the coding of time and ways of the appeal to social and political ideals. Historical identity integrates the presentations referring to four levels: personal microhistories, histories of community, macrohistorical narratives, metasocial ideal presentations. Each level has its own temporality. The particularity relationship between level influences on institutional regimes. This problem is regarded as key to the study of variability of historical identity in modern society. In some cases historical identity can support identity of the actors of development, and in other cases to conservation the society and block the development.
