Historical stages of introducing psychological knowledge in forrensics

The article discusses the stages of introducing psychological knowledge into forensics. The study starts from the very first historical moments of attracting psychological knowledge in the investigation of crimes and ends with modern scientific views on the development of forensic psychology. Each historical period is characterized by the most significant events that have occurred in the history of the formation of psychological and forensic knowledge. The most significant works of experimental psychology that have contributed to the development of forensics are considered. The article provides an overview of the scientific contribution of foreign scientists. As an example, the works of Russian scientists in the field of psychology of witness testimonies, forensic identification in a mental image, psychology of investigative actions, psychology of features of crime investigations, psychological portraiture of unidentified persons are cited.
