Historical review of changes in cultivator frame form factors

The article presents a historical and technical study of the evolution of form factors of cultivators frame structures from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. A patent and functional analysis of key solutions implemented in the frames of agricultural implements is carried out. The features of V- and X-shaped frames, the influence of the design on the stability of the course, the uniformity of soil cultivation and technological features are considered. The methods of maintenance and resource assessment of frame structures used in the USSR and modern Russia are described. Based on the analysis, it is shown how the modern engineering understanding of the functional significance of the cultivator frame was formed and what typical designs industry practice has come to.
