Historical experience of professional training of the tourist staff in the Republic of Buryatia

The interest of a person and society in getting to know new territories and cultures leads to the situation that specialists with the knowledge of the material are necessary, thus, their training is of great importance. At the beginning of the tourism formation as a social phenomenon in our country, training of the personnel for both active and excursion tourism, was conducted by the tourist clubs of various orientations, instructor schools and tourism councils. Only in the 1950s teaching of tourism as a discipline in the national universities started. The professional tourism education in the Republic of Buryatia outlined in 1994 with the opening of the specialty «Museum science and protection of monuments» at East Siberian state Institute of culture.
