The historical path of development of domestic insurance in the Russian economy

The main stages of insurance development in Russia, within which separate periods are highlighted, are considered. It is shown that the formation of insurance in Russia is historically determined by the successive change of periods of liberalization and concentration of the insurance market based on state regulation, with periods of concentration associated with the special role of insurance as a financial category. As a separate trend in the development of insurance, the expansion of compulsory insurance is highlighted. It is concluded that there is a significant impact on the development of modern insurance complicating the needs of the economy, which determines the nature of its development on a par with government regulation.
