Historical text: on the problem of development

The author presents the historical text development process in its coexistence with the mythological text. The aspects and conditions of the historical text functioning in an antique society, motives and key points of historical texts authors are revealed or specified. The possible way of solving the axiological crisis based on tradition and innovations synthesis is put forward.
