History of the festival movement in the socio-cultural space of the Trans-Baikal region in 1940-1990

The article considers the historical and culturological characteristic of the festivals in different years on the territory of the Chita oblast (the Trans-Baikal region). The author considers the peculiarities of the formation, organization, structure of the festival movement. The content, organizational stages of the events, functions performed by the House of folk creativity (now SIC "EMCCF C") are analyzed. The historical characteristic of the festivals, presented in the article, shows the festival as one of the actual forms of sociocultural activity widely used in the Trans-Baikal region.
