History and historical reconstruction of religious institutions in the example of Tsaritsyn (Volgograd)

The article presents factual material on the reconstruction of three religious buildings using 30 models - an Orthodox church, a Catholic Church and a Kirche. The building of the Catholic Church was restored in the early 1950s, but without a roof and a spire, it operated as a clubhouse. The German Kirche was destroyed in the battles for Stalingrad, the Orthodox Church was destroyed in the 1930s during atheistic propaganda. The fate of three iconic architectural objects in the cosmopolitan city of Tsaritsyn is shown. By means of IT technologies, Volga State University scientists with the participation of students reproduced the 30 models in their historical form and made them part of a virtual tour on the history of Volgograd. The results of reconstructing forever lost examples of the city's traditional architecture are very important for Volgograd residents, not only for the purpose of new research on cultural heritage, but also as a tribute to the social memory of descendants.
