History and features of the formation of the banking system of the European Union

The article considers the trends in the formation of the banking system of the member states of the European Union, in particular, the formation of the European system of central Banks and the European Central Bank. The main historical moments of the creation of the Economic and Monetary Union, as well as the structure of the Eurozone, are considered.
