The paper deals with the history and theory of migration processes problem. The author considers the development stages of labor force shifting processes from the First Peoples’ Great migration up to the current period. The article analyzes theories of migration processes and concludes that they comply with the present-day realities. The paper offers new research directions in the field of migration, which are the most relevant at the present time.
