History of Irkutsk eparchy in the works of modern researchers

The article attempts a historiographic analysis of history of one of the greatest and sustainable church-authority unit - the Irkutsk eparchy. Based on the analysis of scientific literature the results of main modern researches are shown in the whole host of issues such as main activity areas of the eparchy, history of churches, and role of the clergy in social and cultural life, evolution of state-church relationships in the 20th century.
