History of formation of the Trans-Ural region as subject for research

The article touches upon the retrospective of the polemics on the magnitude of regional historical and pedagogical researches. Their actuality in the light of Federal Law of Russia «On Education» is substantiated. Concrete results of scientific research on the material of Southern Trans-Ural Region, among those - periodasation of the formation and development of education in the southern Trans-Ural province, regular connections, tendencies and peculiarities are highligted. Recommendations on application of local historical and pedagogical experience in the course of working out national and regional component in education are presented.
