History of domestic dental education: scientific and pedagogical approaches and educational practices

The article contains a retrospective review of the formation of dental (dental) education, which originated in Russia at the beginning of the 18th century. The evolution of training programs for dentists and specialists in the field of maxillofacial surgery is analyzed. The tendency to introduce various forms of postgraduate education and improve dental practice into practice is emphasized. The role of prominent domestic medical scientists in the development of dental education throughout the history of the Russian Empire, the USSR and the Russian Federation is noted.
