The history of the resettlement of old believers-emigrants from South America to the Russian Far East in the media

The work reveals a review of publications in the media covering the resettlement of Old Believers from South America to the Far East. The author pays special attention to the articles that to one degree or another influenced the changes in the state programs for the adaptation of migrants and the formation of a positive perception of the Old Believers in the Far Eastern society. It is noted that in the process of covering the life of Old Believer groups of emigrants from South America, the media uses commemorative practices that create a certain, more often positive, attitude towards this confessional group. The retro-orientation of the text of the publications allows for the connection of times, thereby memorializing the image of the Old Believers. Thus, the media, considering the most pressing issues of life, make a significant contribution to the transformation of social and political relations in society, build new types of interactions both within state structures and between the government and society. The media not only spread information about the Old Believers, but also make it recognizable.
