The origins of the cult of St. VarlaamKhutynsky in the old Russia in the XV-XVI centuries are investigated for the first time. The active worship of the Saint went beyond the Khutynsky monastery at the beginning of the XV century. This process went faster in Moscow in 1461. In the XVI century the cult of St. Varlaam became all-Russian. The followers of the cult were Moscow rulers, representatives of the nobility, serving people, citizens and monks.
