Origins of terrorist methods of struggle in pan-Turkism of East Asia

The article, based on historical materials, considers the problem of emerging a hotbed of tension in East Asia since the post-war period of the mid-twentieth century. The Uyghur population of Western China is intensifying the separatist struggle for the creation of an independent East Turkestan Republic within the territories of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. And more worryingly is the trend of Uighur separatists to use terrorism as a method of fighting for their interests, which has become widespread in recent years. Of all the Turkic militants in the world, it is the Uyghurs who are the most militarized and radically-minded. The activities of Uyghur paramilitary forces significantly influence the international situation in East and Central Asia, fueling unresolved interethnic and interreligious contradictions in Tibet Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia of the People's Republic of China, as well as in Kazakhstan, which are in close proximity to the Russian Federation.
