В статье представлены основные направления в изучении истории советского Дальнего Востока периода 1920-х - середины 1940-х гг. в историографии и мемуарной литературе США. Автор анализирует, какие сюжеты из истории советского Дальнего Востока этого периода привлекали наибольшее внимание американских журналистов и исследователей и приходит к выводу, что среди приоритетных тем всегда присутствовало приграничное сотрудничество дальневосточного региона СССР со странами тихоокеанского бассейна.
