The history of criminal responsibility for illegal hunting

The article discusses the key stages of the formation of Russian criminal responsibility for illegal hunting. The author conducts research of historical legal acts containing responsibility for poaching, identifies stages of modification of such responsibility. Using the example of the analysis proposed in this article, the author shows the priority of protecting the animal world from ancient times to the present day. In conclusion, the author makes a detailed focus on the current state of article 258 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation, which establishes criminal liability for illegal hunting, analyzing its recent changes and innovations.
