History of occurrence and development of graphic works and engineering graphics

This paper deals with history of the emergence and development of graphic images and engineering graphics. The periods of the origin of images considered are the Middle Ages period, the Renaissance period and the final stage of the construction of graphic images and engineering graphics based on the theoretical rules of elaboration of drawings using the method of orthogonal projection on the plane. The development of graphic images in Russia is shown. Special attention is paid to Gaspar Monge, as to a scientist, who formulated the fundamental rules of constructing drawings.
