Historical and mythological layer in L. Leonov’s novel "The Russian forest"

This article examines the historical and mythological aspect of the novel “Russian Forest”. The connection between historical events and myths is analyzed, and the influence of these events on the destinies of people is assessed. Based on this study, the complexity that Soviet society faced, the diversity of ideals and values that were observed during that period, is shown. The significance of the novel “Russian Forest” for understanding the history of culture is shown.
